ROSHANAK

Roshanak Aktefan (born September 18, 1998), known professionally as ROSHANAK, is an Iranian pop-jazz singer-songwriter. From a young age, she felt a connection to music, which eventually became her form of expression. She is known for her openness, activism, and storytelling. Her career took off after graduating from Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) with a degree in sociology and finding inspiration from artists such as Marina and the Diamonds and Elle de Lyon.

During her time at TMU studying sociology, she experienced a period of discontent while working in retail. She decided to pursue her true passion, music, as a result of this unhappiness. While enrolled in the Independent Songwriting and Performance program at Seneca College, ROSHANAK honed her musical abilities. With the aid of initiatives like Rise LCA, her performance journey began to take shape in just eight months, establishing the foundation for her music career. On June 25, 2025, ROSHANAK released her single, "Devil's Worst Disease," which was streamed more than 10,000 times. The singer lamented the negative aspects of a previous toxic relationship.

When ROSHANAK performed with the well-known artist TOBi, it was a spectacular high point in her developing career. This chance presented itself as recognition of her rising talent in the music industry. Currently, ROSHANAK is investing her time into her first EP, which she is developing with the talented producer Gandhaar Amin. In addition to this project, she’s working on her first-ever music video. Furthermore, she is collaborating with the artist snoitome on a hyperpop project.
