The Waves of Springwater

Established in 1896, Springwater Supper Club & Lounge holds the rare distinction of being Tennessee's oldest continuously operating bar. In fact, it's that history that turned it into part of a long, extended live music scene here in Nashville. Nowadays, the music runs five nights a week with everything from the latest up-and-coming locals to touring indie rock and punk bands. Setting the sound experience may be graced by the historic setting when the place was put to service for filming the music video of The Black Keys entitled "Little Black Submarine". Old bar charm and character with the coldest beer in town, enjoyed by regular customers and visitors. Each visit is unique with the full schedule and impromptu celebrity visits, welcoming both regular locals and curious tourists from around the world. Rarely can anything cling to a clientele and hipness all in one go, especially with a dive-bar aesthetic and a minimalist attitude, à la the Springwater Supper Club & Lounge. It's the mix of its history with today's music and events that keeps the heartbeat in this location. The peculiar charm of the bar, as described with neon signs and all sorts of tchotchkes, still draws into it music lovers and anyone in quest of the Great Nashville heritage. Not to mention even starlets like Kesha, who have appeared there in impromptu performances.
