Mya Noél
Mya Noél is a musical artist and songwriter based in Durham, North Carolina. With a passion for music and a desire to create, Mya decided to pursue a career in the industry after her freshman year at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. With the help of a friend, she connected with the renowned Durham-based producer Dadpapa, who has played a crucial role in shaping her sound. Drawing inspiration from freedom and desire, Mya Noél's musical style is a reflection of these themes. Her growing catalog consists of uptempo melodies and memorable lyrics. Her debut single, "Problematic", released on February 28th, 2022, garnered attention and showcased her artistry. The release set the stage for what would become a promising career for the singer-songwriter.
One of the defining moments of Mya's career occurred during a live performance of "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac at an open mic in Greensboro. Prior to the show, she prayed for good footage to capture her performance, and with doubt in mind, she anxiously analyzed the recordings afterward. To her delight, she realized it was her most promising performance yet, providing her with the validation and confidence she needed to continue her musical pursuits. Currently, Mya Noél is working on her upcoming single titled "Sugar", set to be released on Dec 1st, 2023. The song explores the complexities of a toxic relationship, but instead of expressing being consumed, it focuses on trying to cope and make peace with the relationship being over.
