Kairo Kitana is an independent artist from Huntsville, Alabama. She grew up with her father being an active musician. Her father was a guitarist and performed in many bands. In her youth, she was always a singer focused primarily on vocal performance. Inspired by his instrumentalism, she taught herself to play the drums and guitar. At 17, she wrote music but only began recording two years later. Kitana’s interest initially started after mingling with her friend group of fellow musicians. Her friend Xemnas was the first to properly introduce her to music through recording assistance and studio sessions. Her versatility is due to artists such as Doja Cat, Summer Walker, Flo Milli, Tay Money, and Juice Wrld. With a definitive image and sound, she began uploading covers online at 16, and released her first single, “Bag Talk” released in 2021.
“Proud of Me” was released on June 23, 2022, is about her father’s passing. The single became one of her more emotional projects because her father was a significant figure in her life. Her latest project, “trappers n scammers” was released on October 23rd, 2023. She has an upcoming EP with an artist and a six-track solo project releasing in 2024. After a year without performing, she returned for a live performance at an event hosted by Wocstar Records. In her interview with SOXO Radio, she stated, “If you didn’t know me before, now you do. So stay tuned for what I’ve got in store because I’ve got plenty more to show yall soon. Remember my name because this won’t be the last time you see or hear it.
